We provide funded early education for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years old and offer the 30 hour extended entitlement for eligible children. As we offer a holiday club we are able to stretch the free entitlement for children aged 3 and 4 years over 48 weeks.
We can provide care for up to 24 children at each session. We have a large classroom with access to an outdoor play area.
The children experience a stimulating, challenging and fun environment, equipped to enable them to access a wide range of play and learning experiences. Activities are carefully planned and selected to build upon their natural curiosity as learners and to support the development of new skills.
There is a wide range of toys, equipment and resources for the children to choose from, including role play, books, construction, mark making, sand/water play, ICT and small world.
We encourage children to develop their confidence and independence particularly during mealtimes, toileting and dressing routines. However, we recognise the importance for each child's individuality and that they progress at their own pace, so assistance is always offered where needed.
We provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum based around children's individual needs. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and use children's schema's and individual learning styles to support our planning. When we feel children are ready we introduce them to letters and sounds activities to further develop their skills in preparation for school.
We work closely with the staff in the school nursery to ensure children who attend both settings are appropriately challenged and their learning and development is fully supported. We do lots of joint activities to support children's transition into school. Children have access to a range of resources within the school including a forest school areas and a swimming pool, which children have access to once a week.
We have recently become members of the Newpool Meadows Village Green in a bid to become more involved in our local community and to support local organisations. Our staff will help to keep the area maintained as well as using it to support children's interest and understanding of the wider world and the environment.
